Geography Field Trip - Dorset
This week, six of our students — accompanied by Mrs Carr and Mr Bowles — embarked on an exciting adventure to explore the physical and human geography of Dorset!
Monday: After a quick stop at Southampton Quay to observe the impacts of human activity (and enjoy a well-earned full English at Hamble le Rice), the group travelled to Swanage to investigate the effectiveness of local coastal management schemes.
Tuesday: Students crossed the chain ferry to Bournemouth and Boscombe to study the regeneration projects shaping these vibrant coastal towns.
Wednesday: The trip concluded with some awe and wonder geography at the breath-taking Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove, where students explored the dramatic features of a high-energy coastline.
Our base for the trip was the wonderful Leeson House, where we enjoyed great food, expert tuition, and plenty of downtime perfecting our table football and table tennis skills!
An unforgettable few days of hands-on learning, teamwork, and stunning scenery!
