WELCOME
FROM THE HEADTEACHER
FROM THE HEAD OF SIXTH FORM
I am proud to introduce myself as the Headteacher of The Angmering School. I hope that the website will provide you with a flavour of the school and encourage you to visit us in person to find out more about the excellent educational experience which our students enjoy.
Our core school values are Ambition, Respect and Courage. We embody these every day through our teaching and learning, extra-curricular activities and pastoral development program. Importantly, we understand that the best investment we can make in a child is to support them towards amazing exam results – giving them greater choice and opportunity in the future.
We are extremely proud to be a UNICEF Rights Respecting school, actively promoting the understanding and development of the universal children’s rights outlined in the UNCRC (United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child). These values are threaded through everything which we do within school and with our community partners. We have also recently been designated as an Artsmark Gold school in recognition of our commitment to the creative and performing arts, both within our curriculum and beyond it.
Every child in the school is recognised as an individual and encouraged to work hard for their dreams and aspirations. We invest heavily in our teaching and pastoral staff to ensure that every student is able to focus on their learning each day, helping them to reduce or remove barriers to their own learning and make progress of which they can be proud.
Our curriculum is broad and balanced, providing a good platform for further study and plenty of challenge for our many students with aspirations for Higher Education. We are extremely proud of our excellent sixth form where students’ progress and achievement have been ranked among the best in Sussex for the last few years.
“We put children and their learning at the heart of everything we do.”
If you wish to find out more about the school we would encourage you to arrange a visit during a normal school day, speak to our students and ask them about life at The Angmering School. If you are interested in visiting us please contact reception and book yourself in for a tour. I look forward to meeting you soon.
