50th Anniversary

The Angmering School proudly marked its 50th Anniversary with a heartwarming and highly attended celebration held on Saturday 5th July. The Golden Jubilee event brought together more than 250 alumni, students, staff, and community members for a memorable day honoring the school’s legacy and future.

The celebration featured photos and memorabilia from the past 50 years, including video footage from the early 1980's, and a tour of the school. To see so many of you and to share in your heartfelt reunions that rekindled decades-old friendships, was an experience we will never forget!

Mr Liley expressed gratitude for the overwhelming turnout and community spirit:

"Seeing generations of our school family gathered in one place was incredibly moving. It was a reminder of the impact The Angmering School has had over the past five decades—and the bright future that lies ahead.  I think we brought real joy to a lot of people today."

There were cries of ‘where have the lockers gone!”, “I remember when…” and also a moment of familiarity and contentment from 50 years ago when Mr Frayne stood in the class he first taught in in 1975, complete with a few of his 1st years students. 3 of the school Heads, past and present, sat together in the headmaster’s office which mostly remains unchanged, Governors past and present chatted and Alumni reminisced with teachers and friends, staff and students. It was truly a wonderful atmosphere and a pleasure to host!

We would like to thank you all for coming, for sharing your stories, your friendships, and most of all for being part of our history.
