Dance

Dance is the only subject where the body is the prime tool for expression, making it extremely accessible.

We are passionate about providing high quality dance provision and creating opportunities where our students can become competent performers and choreographers, building a strong foundation for further vocational training. Our dance students will receive a holistic dance programme, where they will gain an understanding of professional works and their role as a dancer, gaining an understanding of anatomical principles and contextual information.

“I see dance being used as communication between body and soul, to express what is too deep to find for words”

All of our Sixth Form dancers have the opportunity to join the ‘L and S Youth’ our youth dance company. ‘The L and S Youth’ were selected for the U.Dance national finals in Nottingham for Youth Dance England in June 2014. They performed at Kent Dance Mix and created a curtain raiser for Joss Arnott Dance’s National Tour. We are one of the only colleges to provide a vocational youth dance programme, that gives our students access to professional platforms.
