Year 9 London Embankment Trip

6 Mar 23

On Tuesday 28th February Year 9 students visited the London Embankment for a day of Geography and History. The day started with a trip on the London Eye, where students took in the Geography of the River Thames and learnt about the History of the area, including The Houses of Parliament, New Scotland Yard and Buckingham Palace.

After an exploration of the Southbank and its ice cream shops, students headed to their afternoon activity; the London Dungeons or Shrek’s adventure.

The Dungeons offered an exciting exploration of the most gruesome parts of British history, where our students were cured of the plague, met Sweeney Todd in his barber shop, plotted with Guy Fawkes and were hung for treason by Henry VIII.

Shrek’s adventure offered insight into media in the 21st Century with the opportunity to meet and interact with characters from Far, Far Away, ride on Donkey’s 4D bus tour and see how tourist attractions are created and marketed.
