Farm to Fork Visit Inspires Year 10 Food & Hospitality Students
A group of The Angmering School Year 10 Food & Hospitality students recently enjoyed a fantastic educational visit to Plumpton College as part of the Farm to Fork project, organised by The Prept Foundation.

The visit gave students a valuable opportunity to learn more about where our food comes from, beginning with a fascinating tour of the college’s dairy farm. They explored the workings of a modern dairy farm, discovering how cows are cared for and the important role they play in sustainable dairy production. It was a fantastic chance to connect classroom learning with real-world farming practices.

The experience didn’t stop there. Students also took part in a hands-on cooking session led by a professional chef, where they prepared both a delicious main course and dessert.

Working in a professional kitchen environment allowed students to develop their practical culinary skills, gain confidence, and experience the high standards expected within the hospitality industry.

Experiences like these are invaluable in broadening our students’ understanding of the journey from farm to fork, while also inspiring future careers in food, hospitality, and agriculture.

A huge thank you to Abi Foulds and Jane Williams for organising this wonderful opportunity and we would also like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone at The Prept Foundation and Plumpton College for making such an engaging and memorable day possible.

We are incredibly grateful for their support in providing our students with such an enriching experience.
