FAQ

Parents receive two progress reviews over the course of the academic year, highlighting the student’s performance measured against target grades. They also get the opportunity to meet the subject teachers at our Parent’s Consultation Evening which is early in the Spring Term. Our team of tutors are available every day to respond to individual parental queries. Parents are actively encouraged to contact us if they have any concerns.

Students will have free periods on their timetable, we encourage students to stay on site for P1 – P4 but they can leave the college site after that time if they have no timetabled lessons. We do, however, have a quiet Study Room for students to work in should they wish to. Students are expected to spend at least 4 hours a week on independent study for each subject, and many students find it more effective to complete work on site during free periods.

We host our Sixth Form Open Evening in September and we are open to receive applications from that point.  We encourage students to apply early to ensure their choices are considered when formulating the subject blocks after Christmas.

Applicants will be offered a guidance meeting to discuss options if they are not on track to meet the entry requirements for the courses they request.

The Angmering Sixth Form 16-19 Bursary Fund is designed to help and support any student who faces financial barriers to participation in terms of education and training, such as costs of transport, food or equipment.  Please note that the terms, eligibility and conditions may change from year to year, based on government guidelines and funds available.

Please read the guidance, and if you think you may be eligible for an award from the Bursary Fund, please complete the application form and return it with the appropriate evidence to the Pastoral Coordinator.  Each case will be considered in confidence, individually, and is based on an assessment of need.

To be eligible to receive a bursary in the 2021/22 academic year, students must be under 19 on 31/8/21, meet the EFA residency criteria and be enrolled on an approved Sixth Form course.  Information Packs are available in the Sixth Form Office or click here.

Work is set through our online platform and students are expected to complete this work during the scheduled lesson time. They can do this on site in the allocated classroom, in the Study Room in 6th Form or in the school library. They may choose to complete this work at home if more convenient and if they are confident of being able to focus wiuthout distraction.
