PE courses in the Angmering 6th form offer every student the opportunity to pursue a career in sport, health and fitness. We offer varied courses to suite every students’ needs which allow you to progress even to University if you which. Our courses are open to those that opted for GCSE PE or Btec in year 10 or 11 and those that did not.
We offer A level PE which is a subject that allows you to develop on practical skills already learned in Key Stage 4 and is open to students who are good performers in at least 1 sport. This is a course that covers a range of topics from Anatomy and Physiology to Psychological issues within sport.
If you wish to pursue a more vocational route way to University or a career in sport we offer the Btec National Sport Diploma or Extended Diploma. The Diploma is a 2 A level course which covers all topics related to sport through coursework based activities with no exams. If you wish to extend this to a 3 Alevel qualification then you can with the extended diploma which deepens your knowledge of sport related issues.
Alongside this we also offer Sport leadership courses at Level 2 and 3. These allow students to develop inter personal skills and develop leadership. Following this course you will be qualified to take sports sessions on your own, have the opportunity to train for the National Pool Lifeguard qualification and be First Aid trained. This course also gives you 35 UCAS points on completion which is equivalent to a D grade at A level.
Finally we offer a Level 2 qualification in Team Work and Personal Development that would run alongside an English or Maths retake to give you the skills and qualifications to progress onto level 3 courses the following year. This course is similar to a Public Services course for students who might be interested in joining the Armed or Emergency services.
