Rock Challenge News
Congratulations to our Rock Challenge team that competed at the Southern Open Final on Friday 27th April, with their piece ‘Dark Side of the Rainbow’. The students were outstanding and conducted themselves with professionalism and integrity throughout the day – they were a real credit to the school. Our Stage Crew and Technical Teams had to deal with some additional challenges on the day, but managed to pull together and work as a team to allowing all elements of the performance to come together seamlessly. We were delighted to win 8 individual awards including Entertainment and Performance Skills and placed 5th overall, in a final that was of an exceptionally high standard. We are very proud of all of the students involved and would like to thank the Staff team that accompanied us on the day – Miss Pratt, Miss Munday, Mr Jenner, Mr Lovell-Hill, Mrs Street and Mrs Fullman who was instrumental in arranging the trip and getting the set to the theatre.
We also held our own individual Rock Challenge awards this year that were voted for by the students, ourselves and the Headship team. These awards were to celebrate the weeks of hard work put in by all of the students involved and for us, they are more important than the awards we won on the night.
Congratulations to the following students:
Performers Performer: Freddy Ireland
Spirit of Rock Challenge: Issy Rodda
Stage Crew Award: Jeff Rose
The Not Just Doing it on the Day Award: Lily Squire
Most Promising: Alivia-Lily Burford and Jacob Toms-Parr
Headship Award: Joe Thornton
Thank you to everybody that helped to make Rock Challenge such a success this year and we are already starting to make plans for next year!
