Unicef's "Day for Change"
Well done to all our students who raised funds for Unicef’s “Day for Change”. This was a great opportunity for our students to learn about how nutritious food can change children’s lives as well as empowering students to raise vital funds, helping to make sure malnourished children can grow up healthy and strong.
We asked students in START to decide ways their tutor group could raise money for Day for Change. The Power of Nutrition, a charitable foundation, agreed to double our school’s donation so Unicef can help even more children.
Our students raised a grand total of £851 with all their activities (including a sponsored silence, name the water melon, a plant stall, guess the amount of sweets in a jar, ice cream sales, penalty shootot, bake sales, sponge a student, sponge a teacher, film night and many more!) which when doubled by the Power of Nutrition, a charitable foundation to make £1,702. This will be sent to Unicef to help even more children. Well done to everyone who took part.
Unicef said “We’ve raised an incredible £89,000 so far and counting, and it’s all thanks to schools like yours. Every single pound raised will be doubled by The Power of Nutrition, a charitable foundation, meaning the impact of your gift is even greater.”
Thanks to all your hard work and creative efforts at the end of last term, you helped UNICEF and many children suffering from malnutrition in countries like Liberia.
The Angmering School contributed £1,059 towards this fundraising event and that amount was further doubled by The Power of Nutrition.
So, a huge thank you for getting involved in Day for Change and helping children like you have access to their right to health and nutrition (Article 24).
