KS3 - Physical Education
The Angmering school is pioneering in its approach to Key Stage 3 PE. We ensure that we value students' physical ability in all PE lessons, but also use measures to ensure we assess students personal qualities such as resilience and their ability to problem solve effectively.
PE provides our students experience in a variety of sporting activities, with the aim to support them engaging in and continue with lifelong participation in physical activity.
In years 7,8 and 9 our students will undertake lessons covering invasion games, striking and fielding, net and wall, gymnastics, health and fitness, athletics and OAA as well as a number of alternative sports.
All lessons have been carefully designed to teach and nurture physical skills as well as develop personal skills required to be successful not only in PE, but at GCSE level, and across all subjects. We want to help promote active, confident, well rounded individuals with the vital life skills to be successful both in school and beyond.
Here at Angmering we tailor our curriculum to get the best experience possible for all students. With our unique holistic approach we look to value our students in our subject and ensure they experience success across the range of our 9 assessment strands. There are many ways students can be successful within their PE lessons and as mentioned before we look to celebrate this.
Leadership plays a huge role in our subject with ample opportunities to develop this both within KS3 lessons and as part of our highly successful leadership academy.
Our PE staff all know the positive impact our subject can have on students and are advocates of this from our own experiences. We look to share our knowledge and expertise and use PE as a vehicle for success for your children in the best way we can.
Our KS3 curriculum flows into our KS4 offer where Year 9s will be offered the opportunity to study theoretical based units that are intertwined within the practical setting. This is designed to prepare them for the rigour of any sports course they wish to study in Year 10.
