Angmering Locality Primary Schools PE & Sport Links
The Angmering School PE Department has been working in close partnership with our locality schools since gaining Sports College status in 2000. Throughout the various policy directives aimed at physical education, the PE department have sought to develop links for the children who attend locality primary, junior and infant schools with the secondary school.
It has continually been involved in work to develop PE curricula, teacher knowledge and confidence and raise opportunities to be physically active and participate in sporting competition. There have been opportunities to develop inclusive activities, gifted and talented students, sports leadership and raise the profile of PE and school sport.
The Angmering School is proud of its PE and sporting traditions and works closely with the locality schools in sharing facilities, equipment, resources and specialist PE knowledge. A wide range of inter- school sporting opportunity takes place within the locality, most of which is organised by and hosted at The Angmering School, providing many leadership opportunities for secondary and primary pupils. The locality links seek to ease the transition process for pupils arriving in Key Stage 3 by having prior knowledge of their attainment, abilities and preferences regarding physical education, activity and sport.
The Angmering School provides specific support via its Primary School Links Co-ordinator (Pete Gwynn) and also School Games Organiser (Daniel Jenner) and the wider PE department staff.
