The Angmering Curriculum
We have an exciting curriculum that fosters the values of ambition, respect and courage with the aim of nurturing successful and confident adults.
To do this we deliver a curriculum which is broad and balanced but which can be personalised to meet the needs of individuals. This is done through combining courses suitable to learners needs and through a wide choice of subjects that a large school like ours can offer. A key principle of the curriculum is its design over 7 years to ensure maximum progression from years 7 to 13.
As well as acquisition of knowledge the curriculum is designed to foster skills and qualities. Subject leaders sequence opportunities to develop skills, values and attitudes in curriculum plans. As well as subject disciplines of the national curriculum, themes such as realtionships and sex education are embedded in department schemes of work, but are also delivered explicitly in our groundbreaking Perspectives
Our status as a Rights Respecting School also has a crucial role to play in terms of attitudinal development and shapes our not only subject delivery, but also our assembly and tutorial programmes to foster core British Values such as tolerance and respect.
Details of the curriculum offer and the courses we run can be found in our Key Stage guides and our Sixth Form prospectus which can be found in the downloads section.
