Q.

What do I do if my child is ill?

A.

Please ring the school as soon as possible to report the absence.  If you do not call then our automated absence system will contact you directly if your child is marked absent at morning registration.  This system will enable you to respond, if your child is away with good reason, giving the reason for absence and saving you writing a note.

Q.

What uniform should my child wear?

A.

Full details of the uniform are in our prospectus in the General Information Section.  Navy blue trousers or skirt, white plain shirt with collar or white polo shirt, navy blue sweatshirt with logo and black shoes (to include all black trainers with no logos)

Q.

What time does school start?

A.

The school site is open at 8am but formal supervision of students by staff  commences at 8.30am .  Students are called to registration at 8.45am .

Q.

What about lunch?

A.

Students may bring packed lunches or use the cafeteria.  Full details of the cafeteria are sent home with your child on the induction day.  A meal can be bought for on average £1.75 - £2.

Q.

How can I help the office staff?

The office staff are always being inundated with calls for messages to be passed to students in classes about lifts home, visits to the dentist/ doctor, forgotten lunches and  forgotten door keys.  Passing messages to students takes time and disturbs the student's class and the office staff's work.  Messages will only be passed on in an emergency.  Please ensure your child knows about any appointments, that they have their door key, they are aware of a contingency plan should you not be able to collect them and make sure they have their lunch with them before leaving home.

Finally, please ensure that students carry their canteen cards at all times.  They will be needed for the canteen, library and ICT.

Q

What do I do about lost property?

Any lost property is taken to the PTA hut.  If items are named they are listed in the student bulletin and students can then come and claim them.  If the items are not named it is up to the students to come along and look for lost items.  The hut is open on Tuesday and Thursday break times for students to view.

Q

Can my child have access to the internet at the school?

A

Yes, provided you have signed their internet contract which they will bring home on induction day.

Q Does my child need to wear school uniform on the Induction Day?
A Yes, they should wear their primary school uniform.
