The Singers
A new group Thursday lunchtimes  for years 7 and 8.  Learn part singing and have a say in what you like to sing. Our first rehearsal will be on 15th September in M1.  

Blue Monkeys: AFTER SCHOOL from 3.20 – 4.30pm

  • For the more experienced instrumentalist or singer
  • Enjoy performing from a range of musical styles
  • Enjoy working towards regular, live performances

 A FREE lunchtime club for GCSE music students in years 10 and 11.

  • Tailored to the needs of students, including support in coursework – performance or composition,
  • Help with revising and practicing for listening tests or creative task exams,
  • For further support and lessons in music theory and key terms

 

WEDNESDAYS

Vocalise!: LUNCH TIME

  • Any singing ability or age welcome – just come along
  • Develop basic vocal techniques
  • Learn to sing in 2 part harmony
  • Have a say in the styles of music you want to sing
  • Enjoy working towards regular live performances

steelSTEEL BAND: Sussex Steel: Wednesdays from 3.30pm

Learn how to play the steelpan and percussion (including drum kit) as part of a steel band. You will learn a range of musical styles including Calypso, Reggae and Popular music. Lee Nelson who will lead the sessions has more than ten years’ experience of teaching steelpan and his bands have performed at the Royal Albert Hall and toured many European countries. Sessions will run  for junior and secondary school students.

Free taster sessions in September!

3.30 – 4.00 year 7
4.00 – 4.30 primary school

PRICES: £50 per term for 10 x 1 hour sessions.

THURSDAYS

BAND SHACK: AFTER SCHOOL

  • Come with your band for the opportunity to rehearse your favourite style of music
  • Get help with learning and rehearsing your parts
  • Come along and find members to join you in making a band
  • Get inspiration in composing music in your favourite styles
  • All abilities welcome, although it does help if you have had some experience, whether self-taught or with a teacher

 

The music department values student’s involvement, their commitment in producing high quality work and in supporting each other as peers. We have ‘musicianship’ and ‘music ambassador’ awards to celebrate this. We have almost 100 students proudly wearing their badges from over the last two years.

 

Clarinet Group Lessons:
An opportunity to learn start to learn the clarinet for a fraction of the cost of private lessons.  This is open to students in year 4 and up.  Run by our woodwind teacher, Kate Hogg through the West Sussex ‘Time4Music’ scheme.  Students can borrow their very own clarinet to take home and practice in between each lesson.  Lessons and instruments are included within the same cost.
Weekly lessons every Thursday after school in M1. (Music block at The Angmering School)
10 lessons per term 
Cost: £26 per term payable in advance.
