The Lavinia Norfolk Centre is located within The Angmering School in a purpose built suite of rooms.

Many are classrooms where small group teaching takes place; principally in Maths and English but we also have some smaller classes in Humanities, Languages and PE. Each teaching room has an interactive whiteboard and computers.

The Centre has its own hygiene area with adapted facilities to ensure all students’ personal needs are managed in a professional and supportive manner.

The Centre also has a hydrotherapy pool and large physio and fitness suite area, managed by a Senior Paediatric Physiotherapist and a  technician. This team liaise closely with parents, staff and other professionals to ensure programmes of support in this area, are appropriate.

Additionally, the Centre has 2 dedicated rooms for sensory impaired students (HI and VI), a large area for socialising/dining and space for storage of wheelchairs and sports equipment. The Centre is well staffed and resourced. Laptops, iPads and Eye Gaze technology are all deployed to maximise learning opportunities and the department works hard to ensure interactive technology is used effectively.

The Learning Support Department currently has a staffing of 10 teachers, 38 LSAs, a physiotherapist, a technician, and two office staff. Teachers are both specialist teachers in a specific area of disability and are also highly skilled classroom practitioners.
