The Library

The library (L7) is open daily from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm including break and lunchtimes. In addition, older students may use the silent study room (L10) which also houses the careers library.

The library is staffed by a Chartered Librarian and a Library Assistant.

Visit the library when you need a reading book or you have to do some research for homework. The library staff will help you find the resources you need.

Year 7 students are timetabled once a fortnight to visit the library to learn library and research skills.

You can borrow books, story tapes, CD-ROMS, videos and DVDs and there is no hire charge for any of these resources. Please keep all borrowed resources clean and dry and return them on or before the due date.

Fines are only charged on short loan items which are returned late.

You can access networked computers in the library. The rules for student use of ICT rooms also apply here.

Newspapers, magazines, dictionaries and encyclopaedias are kept in the library for you to use and you can make photocopies for a small charge. Please ask at the library desk for details.

Out of consideration for other library users, we expect a high standard of behaviour in the library, following the school’s classroom covenant and code of conduct.
