One of our wonderful former students who is using her gap year before going to Exeter University to volunteer overseas. The Angmering Sixth Form are supporting her fundraising: all contributions are welcomed through her JustGiving page (details below). Nat will be presenting her project in our Year 12 assembly on 19th February, and holding a bake sale in the Sixth Form Common Room on Friday 23rd February. Her story is below.
In April I begin volunteering for three months with a government sponsored organisation, Restless Development. I am just one of many UK volunteers who go to work overseas to help make sure young people have a voice, a living, sexual rights, and are leaders in preventing and solving the world’s challenges. I will be working with young people in southern India . Before I embark on my trip, however, I have a target to raise £800 for Restless Development. In order to raise money, I plan to abseil down the Spinnaker Tower on 30th March 2018.
In the past 30 years Restless Development has seen its network of young volunteers grow to over 17,000 people worldwide. They have trained, inspired and helped more than seven million children, young people, and community members in Africa, South Asia and the UK. My funds will help ensure that this important work continues. Thank you for your support.
