Learning Support Assistants

We have an excellent team of Learning Support Assistants who are highly skilled professionals, many of whom have additional qualifications ranging from degrees to advanced NVQs.

Our role is multifaceted and includes a wide variety of in-class support roles, assistance with personal hygiene and eating, physiotherapy aide, hydrotherapy, supervision, physical care, first aid, care of the environment.....

We are also essential to facilitate access to school trips and visits, including overnight stays and visits abroad.

We support all students in the groups within which they work, as appropriate. We check on and help anyone in the class who asks for help.

There are annual reviews of lifting and handling people, pool safety, resuscitation, and aspects of in-class support, so that we feel fully able to meet any eventuality..

We are included in staff meetings and development days.
