About the Lavinia Norfolk Centre

The Lavinia Norfolk Centre is a purpose built part of the Learning Support and Development Faculty of the school, with a number of annually reserved places for students of secondary age with physical or sensory impairments, all of whom have Statements of Special Educational Needs. The school has students with many other disabilities/special needs, who are also supported.

We support secondary aged students with physical or sensory impairments. We provide a caring, challenging environment, fully part of the school, which is fully accessible for students in wheelchairs.

Our aim is to provide just the right level of support to act as a springboard to independence, for each student. We are a fully inclusive school, striving to improve individual opportunities academically, in sport, in social relationships and in emotional development for our most able and our most challenged students.

Our goal of excellence leads us constantly to enhance resources and to progress in seeking new ways to success. Former students have gone to University and some are now teachers, Social Workers and Disability Consultants. Others have found their niche in the local area.
