Information Communication Technology
The school has a curriculum network with several rooms dedicated to ICT. Our ICT base is linked to the network and has more than twenty computers in a dedicated room, paid for by the Lavinia Norfolk Centre Trust.
In addition we provide numerous laptops and small portable word-processors for use in the classroom, which we upgrade regularly. Some of them were bought from LEA funds but most, by money raised by the Lavinia Norfolk Trust.
A recent purchase was a tablet laptop for evaluation.
In a jointly funded project, the school and centre budgets bought SucessMaker, an Integrated Learning System, which gives practice in literacy and numeracy skills. Our students and Family group in Year 6, use it after school.
In recent years, the Lavinia Norfolk Centre Trust has directly helped to pay for laptops for older students which they can take with them when they leave.
We have also bought or been given some reconditioned laptops for students or teachers to use.
